Can the Saris Bones 2 Trunk Carrier be Safely used on a 2018 Lincoln MKZ

Question:

Since the auto has no flat surfaced bumper, can the Saris Bones 2 be safely used on this vehicle. Ive had others tell me that it cant be used on the Lincoln MKZ because of the possibility of damaging the car. What has your experience shown regarding this installation. I like the looks and construction of this carrier and, if possible, would love to use it. Thank you and looking forward to your expertise and input re: this question.

Saris test fit their Bones trunk rack part # SA805BL on your 2018 Lincoln MKZ and found that it fit and worked well without damaging anything. You'd just need to stay under the capacity of the rack at 35 lbs per bike and keep the painted surface of the vehicle clean to prevent scratching.

If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
