Backup Sensors/Camera Turn Off After Plugging B&W Custom Headache Rack Into 2018 Ford F-250
Question:
I have a 2018 ford super duty f250 I am trying to hook up my light in the headache rack, but when I plug them in to the connector on the driver side frame I turn off my rear backup sensors and backup camera guidance. any help would be greatly appreciated.

If that connector you are plugging into is related to the tow package wiring, then that is what is causing the problem on your 2018 Ford F-250. Basically, the truck thinks that a trailer is connected so it turns off the backup sensors (though I am not sure why it would shut off the camera) so that they do not alert you because they think the trailer is an obstacle.
You can bypass this by hardwiring the B&W Custom Headache Rack # BWPUCP7500WA directly to the truck's taillight wiring. On the wiring for the rack the white wire is ground, brown is for running/taillights, yellow is left turn signal and brake lights, and green is right turn signal and brake lights.
Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter if you have one to test the wires behind the truck tail lights in order to find the correct wires to complete the installation.
