5-Bike Rack Recommendation with Bike Locks and Hitch Locks
Question:
The range of features on trailer hitch bike racks is stunning, and Im not sure if Im buying the right thing. First of all, this is the first car Ive ever bought with a trailer hitch. And secondly, I want to know that what I get is secure. I have a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder SE with the Premium package. I would like to be able to attach 5 bikes to it. When they are attached, I need to be confident that not only cant the entire contraption be unscrewed from the car by a crook and walked away with rack and bikes together, but also that the bikes cant be removed by a crook. Some of the bikes Id attach are adult sized, others not. So, with that as background, I dont know what I dont know what to order. I also need to make sure I dont spend more on transporting these bikes than theyre worth. Can you help me?

For a 5-bike rack that has locks for the rack to the hitch as well as locks for the bikes to the rack we have the Hollywood Rack Road Runner 5 rack part # HR520 that covers all of those bases and is at a price that's not going to break the bank. This has a locking hitch pin to secure it to the hitch and then a cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
