If your 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the 4WD model, I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57272. This kit uses custom brackets for a no-drill installation and will provide you with 5,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity. These will do a really nice job of enhancing the rear suspension and reducing rear end sag when hooking up your trailer or loading cargo into the bed. You can manually adjust the air pressures so that you have a level ride regardless of the type of load you are carrying or pulling.
I have attached the complete installation instructions for this kit that you can also check out.
