Maintenance Operation of Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000NG

Question:

My last jack became noisy and eventually stopped working. When i took it apart, the main screw had become rusted and all is greese was pushed to one end - the screw jack was dry and there was now way to service it without taking it completely apart. Can you please let me know if this jack is servicable? Can the jack screw be greased? You state the screw is polished, but what is is made of? And if it is servable, maybe you could provide a video. I think all of us would find service videos on any product you sell would be fantastic so we can maximize the life of what we are investing in.

The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000NG uses ball screw technology. It is built with ball bearings that roll smoothly along the threads of the screw shaft and the nut, thereby eliminating direct surface-to-surface contact you experienced with your previous jack. This produces far less friction along the threads, leading to a reduction in heat and wear, as well as noise. In addition, because much of the friction is eliminated, less power is needed to operate the jack, so it pulls far less amperage than jacks with traditional screw systems. The overall result is a jack that can be raised and lowered faster, smoother, quieter, and more efficiently.

You do not need to grease the threaded rod, and it would require disassembly to do so. The jack comes with a 2- year warranty.
