Recommended Trailer Hitch, Hitch Step, and Bike Rack for 2012 Honda Pilot
Question:
what hitch would I get for a 2012 honda pilot. Its not for towing, its for a doggy step and maybe a bike rack. Would you also know if it is pre-drilled or if I have to do that myself. Thanks for your help

Your 2012 Honda Pilot should have come equipped with a factory trailer hitch receiver, so there is actually not an aftermarket hitch available for this vehicle. Take a look at the rear bumper for a removable panel or door that might be hiding the hitch receiver. You can also crawl under the Pilot and look up at the underside behind the rear bumper and you should be able to see the hitch.
If you don't yet have a hitch step I recommend taking a look at the PortablePET Twistep # HE3052. This hitch-mounted step works great to help dogs (or humans) get into and out of the rear of your Pilot. It will provide you with a 22 inch wide, 19 inch anti-slip surface step and comes fully assembled for quick installation. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can check out.
If you are also still looking for a bike rack, I highly recommend the Kuat Transfer 2 # KU74FR. This platform-style, 2-bike rack features ratcheting hooks that will hold your bikes by the wheels with no frame contact. It also has a convenient foot pedal that allows you to tilt the rack back for easy rear cargo access on your Pilot.
I have attached a video demonstration on this bike rack as well, along with a link that will take you directly to our available selection of racks that you can look through.
