The Derale Transmission Pan Cooler # D14207 referenced in your question will indeed increase the fluid capacity of your Chevy Silverado 2500 with the 6.0L engine. This particular cooler will increase the fluid capacity by 4 quarts, 16 ounces. It will use the air beneath your truck and its turbulator tubes to cool the transmission fluid by as much as 20 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
I have attached an FAQ on transmission coolers that you might also find helpful.
