The Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack part # KU74FR which you referenced is a wheel mount bike rack and will not work, at least well, with bikes that have fenders. If your bikes do have fenders then you will want to use a frame mount bike rack like the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack part # TH92BJ which is an excellent alternative to the Transfer 2.

The Doubletrack is fairly lightweight at around 35 lbs compared to the 47 lbs of the Transfer 2, has adjustable wheel cradles for bikes with varying wheelbases, and comes with locks for security.
