Weight Distribution for a 2016 Four Star Runabout cargo Trailer with 465 Pounds Tongue Weight
Question:
I am looking for a weight distribution hitch for my 2016 Four Star Runabout cargo trailer. The tongue weight is about 465 lbs based on 18 ft body, 5.6 feet from front axle to read of trailer, and trailer empty weight of 2200 lbs. Please advise. Thanks.

It looks like the Four Star Runabout is a V-Nose trailer. This is important because there needs to be enough distance from the center of the ball cavity in the trailer coupler to the body of the trailer (measured along the frame) to account for the length of weight distribution spring bars.
I assume that 465 pounds is the tongue weight when loaded and ready to tow. If so then a system rated for 200 to 600 pounds will put the 465 pound tongue weight in about the middle of that range. Equal-I-zer system # EQ37060ET is rated for 200 to 400 pounds and it has narrow frame brackets that can be mounted as little as 27 inches back from the center of the coupler ball cavity.
Another option is Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66558 rated for 400 to 600 pounds tongue weight. Its brackets are also narrow and can be mounted as little as 25 inches back. This system does not come with a ball. For a compatible 2 inch ball use # 63845. For a compatible 2-5/16 inch ball use # 63847.
Keep in mind that when choosing a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. If that makes your tongue weight higher than 600 pounds let me know.
