Replacing A Sidewinder On A 2013 Prowler 21SRB
Question:
I have a 2013 Prowler 21SRB 5th wheel and having far to difficult of a time hooking and unhooking with the current Fabex Side Winder The original owner had a short box and with a slider and installed the side winder which was given to me when I purchased the trailer. I have a F250 with a 6.5 box So i would like to switch out the Box Pin but want to make sure the Lippert 1621is the correct unit. Searched the internet trying to figure out the spec on the prowler but no luck. When i measure the current configuration it looks like the 1621 will do the job.

If you cannot locate the OEM pin box manufacturer's name and model number of your trailer's 5th wheel king pin box, then measuring like you did is the best way to find a correct replacement. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one. There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.
Since your measurements match up, I am confident that the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC328330 will fit and work properly for you. It is designed to replace your Lippert 1621 5th-wheel pin box
I also recommend the 1621 Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret # RP61422 or # RP34FR if you need additional clearence to make turns. This will move your 5th-Wheel trailer's pivot point an extra 22" toward the rear of your tow vehicle so that you can easily make 90-degree turns, even with a short-bed pickup truck.
