Engine Oil Cooler for a 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body Style with 6.0 Liter Motor

Question:

I have a 07 chevy Silverado new style with the 6.0L max towing package and my truck already has a trans cooler in front of the radiator does the cooler take the place of that one or off to the side as a extra cooler, Im really only looking for the extra oil cooling part so thats why Im thinking I can just take out my old trans cooler to help make room for this new one? Also my 4x4 drive shaft will probably be in the way of the sandwich plate does this come with some 90 degree fittings so I can get the correct to avoid that drive shaft?

Since the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler # D15902 is both a transmission and oil cooler it would need to take the place of the cooler that you have. However this will likely provide less transmission fluid cooling than your existing external cooler. What I recommend for your 2007 Silverado (New Body) with 6.0 liter motor is to just add a small oil cooler only so that you will get the maximum benefit of both coolers.

I recommend Derale Tube-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit # D15551. This kit has a spin-on adapter so you will be able to remotely mount an oil filter. The new Filter Mount is designed to accept a 3/4-16 oil filter so you will need to use one of the following filters after this installation:

AC - PF2
Fram - PH8A
Motorcraft - FL1A
Purolator - PER1A
