Do Tow Hooks Have to be Removed For Draw-Tite Front Trailer Hitch Installation, 2009 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
Truck is a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie. I asked this question of the Curt hitch a while back, same question for this Draw-Tite hitch. Question is, this truck has front tow hooks installed from the factory that appear to use the same mount points as this front hitch would use. Will the tow hooks have to be removed or get in the way otherwise? Also, the tow hooks appear to have rubber bushings on one of the mount points, will the hitch cause any problems with that?

The tow hooks will have to be loosened on your 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 in order to install the Draw-Tite Front Receiver, # 65062. The hitch will then be installed between the frame and tow hooks. The hooks stay on the vehicle. The hitch will also need to mount flat against the attachment points so that rubber bushing, if it gets in the way, will have to be removed also.
