Base Plate Kit Compatibility with 2004 and Surrounding Years Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I bought a tow kit from a gentleman who claimed this kit was off of a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee only to find out he was wrong. The kit he sold me has the #1419-1 on the instructions. Can anybody tell me what this kit belongs to so I can re-sell it. Thank you

I reached out to my tech contact at Roadmaster and he said they don't have what vehicle the 1419-1 fits in their fit guide. They only have that it was listed as obsolete in 2004 so unfortunately I can't help you with that fit.

The correct kit for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee is # 1425-1. It looks like you have a model year close to that, so if you have a 2001-2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee you will want # 1419-7. If you have a 2005 model, you will want # 1427-1 which also fits 2006-2010 models excluding the SRT-8.
