Troubleshooting No Power at Left Turn/Brake Light Pin on 2007 Ford F-150 Connector

Question:

Have a 2007 Ford F-150. Left turn pin in towing connector on towing vehicle is getting zero amps on a multimeter when running and directional flashing. Is this just a blown fuse in the tow vehicle?

By testing the left turn/brake signal pin on the 4 or 7-Way connector of your 2007 Ford F-150, you have at least ruled out the trailer wiring as being the issue so you can focus all your attention on the truck. The issue may certainly be the result of a blown fuse on the F-150.

I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2007 Ford F-150 and found that there should be a 10 amp mini fuse located in the number 42 position inside the passenger compartment power distribution box. This particular fuse is for trailer tow left turn/stop lamps, so you will want to check to make sure it is present and in good condition.

If replacing the fuse doesn't resolve the issue, you can also check the connector again to make sure there isn't any debris or corrosion built-up behind the pin, cleaning as needed. Also check the wiring going into the connector for any frayed or exposed areas that are in need of replacement.

Please let me know if you are still having issues and I will be happy to do some more troubleshooting.
