Trunk Mount Bike Rack for Kid and Adult Bikes on a 2012 Toyota Corolla
Question:
Hi there I need a bike rack for my 2012 Toyota Corolla. There are 3 in the family, me Mum and my 5 year old twins so we would need something that will carry 3 bikes please. I do not have a tow bar and am worried this is going to cost me a lot of money! BUT, we are a very active family and guess its cheaper than buying a new car! Look forward to your guidance. Thank you in advance.

You do not have to have a trailer hitch in order to carry 3 bikes on your 2012 Toyota Corolla. That will help keep the cost down because you can use a trunk mount bike rack. Considering that 2 of the bikes you want to carry are for young children I recommend a rack that has the narrowest arm spacing. This will make it more likely for the smaller bikes to fit.
The arms on the Saris Bones, # SA801BL, can get very close to each other so I recommend going with it.
Even though the arms can get very close you still might need to use an adapter bar, # 64005, for the childrens' bikes and for any bike that does NOT have a top frame tube that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike). I have linked a video showing how the adapter bar works.
