Recommended Frame Rail Fluid Cooler for 200r4 Transmission on 1946 Chevy Truck

Question:

I have a 1946 Chevy truck with a inline 6 and 200R4 transmission. I want to run a the Derale 24 frame rail d13225 cooler inside my frame on the passenger side only. Without running any lines to the front of the truck. Will the 24 inch cool the transmission by its self? The second question is can I run two inline side by side in the frame rail. Or is there a better option. Really trying to hide the cooler under the truck. I have allot more room for a longer 45 inch if one exists.

The Derale 24" Frame Rail Fluid Cooler with -6 AN Inlets # D13225 is a great option. It does not require lines to the front of your truck to cool your transmission. There is not a longer option available, but you can run the Derale 17" Frame Rail Fluid Cooler with - 6 AN Inlets # D13221 as well if increased cooling is desired and you need to be under 45 inches.

You may also want to consider using a remote cooler with a fan to ensure you don't overheat your transmission. Since you won't be using a factory transmission cooler, you won't have a fan for when air isn't moving like when you sit in traffic. For instance the Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler with Fan and AN Inlets # D12733 would give you that and allow you to mount it wherever desired.
