Sudden Release of Towing Curt Bike Rack # C18013 When Removing Tip
Question:
Ive been playing with my new Curt clamp-on 3-bike rack. Q.: Is there a safe, gentle way to release it? Those bars snap together suddenly and the whole assembly pops off the supporting shank. It could do damage!

The release for the Curt Bike Rack # C18013 does come off pretty quickly. There really isn't a way to slow that down as it's designed to hold tightly and when all of the pressure releases it can seem sudden. If you firmly hold the rack with one had while releasing it that will help prevent it from jumping off. Also do not leave any bikes on the rack as you remove it.
