Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2016 Jayco 195RB

Question:

I just purchased a 2016 Jayco 195RB that measures out 21’ 8” long and max weight of 3500lbs. Also says the dry hitch weight is 240lbs. My tow vehicle is a 2014 RAM 1500 Regular cab with 5.7 HEMI engine. I was wondering what my options were on a weight distribution hitch with built in sway control. Thanks in advance!

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Your loaded tongue weight would be right around 350 to 400 lbs when loaded most likely so the Reese Strait-Line kit part # RP66082 would be your best option as it has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs and features only sway control the works to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90.
