Can the Brake Light Relay # RM-88400 be Installed on a 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I installed the Roadmaster Kit # 152 note that I have just purchased all this from etrailer . I need a way to isolate the brake switch as it will override the RV turn signals when the SMI system activates the brake on the Jeep. So I purchased the Brake-Light Relay #88400 as etrailer recommended. The problem is that the JL brake switch only sends and receives from the computer controls. There is no 12v at the switch, only low control voltage. So how can I disable the brake switch? I cannot even find a fuse that is for the brake light system. I called Roadmaster by they did not have a solution for my either.

The wire that you need on your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited is extraordinarily difficult to get to and it is easy to cause damage to the electrical system if you tried to tap into it. Sometimes you just have to drop back and punt and that is what Roadmaster has done in this case.
There is one way around it and that is to instead use a magnetic light kit such as # RM-2120. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear but there isn't a better solution available.
