Can 235/85R16 Trailer Tire Replace a 235/80R16 Trailer Tire?

Question:

Can a 235/85R16 be substituted for a 235/80R16? My current pattern is 8 bolt.

So long as you have the clearance to fit the larger tire in your wheel well and if you have a tandem axle trailer, enough clearance (about 2") between the tires then you can absolutely use the larger tire.

A 235/85R16 tire is 9/10" larger in diameter than a 235/80R16 tire but has the same 9.3" width and the Kendra # AM32743B wheel and tire combination will work so long as your bolt pattern is 8 on 6-1/2" and you have the room for the slightly larger tire. This has a black Mod Wheel. If you want a different color, you would have to get the tire and wheel separately.
