Yes, you can install a 2-5/16" hitch ball on the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System # C17333. All that is required is that the shank have a diameter of 1-1/4" like the Draw-Tite 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 19286 had.
The shank of the system fits a 2" trailer hitch receiver which is where you are getting that information from. Essentially any hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank can be installed on this weight distribution system.
