Lug Nut Torque for 13 Inch Trailer Wheels on a 2014 KZ Sportsman Classic

Question:

I saw your chart on lug nut torque, but I have 13” tires and wheels on my travel trailer. Do you have a specification for my size wheels? My trailer is a 2014 KZ Sportsman Classic that was converted from single axle to double axle by the dealer. I know it has Dexter Axles but I don’t which ones. It’s a light trailer.

I am assuming that the lug nut/stud size for your trailer wheels are 1/2 inch. That would mean you would need to torque the lug nuts to 75 to 85 foot pounds. There might even be a spec listed in the manual for your 2014 KZ Sportsman Classic.

If they happen to be 7/16 then you would torque them to 55 to 65 foot pounds.

And if they happen to be 9/16 then you would torque them to 95 to 115 foot pounds.
