Can the Harness 3040-P for a Prodigy P3 be Spliced to Stop Light Switch on 2008 Toyota Tundra
Question:
I purchased the Tekonsha p3 and the harness to install in my Tundra. Got it all installed only to find that the previous owner cut the brake input wire from the back of the factory brake controller connector. I am having trouble finding this wire, I assume they used the wire for the remote start. Any idea what color wire I am looking for. I see it is a brown wire at the brake pedal switch, could I just tap to it there and save a lot of time searching for it under the dash. Thanks for any help,

I don't know what color wire you would be searching for as this can vary but if the brown wire at the brake pedal switch is the cold side of the stop light switch (only gets hot when the brake pedal is pressed) then you can definitely splice in the red wire from the harness # 3040-P for the Tekonsha P3 # 90195.
You can use a tester like part # PTW2979 to test the function of that brown wire. This would make the installation on your 2008 Toyota Tundra much easier.
