Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller on 2005 Chevy Tahoe

I watched the video for the installation of the Prodigy controller on the 2005 Tahoe. It did not show any modifications under the hood like for 2007 models and later i.e., power connections. Do connections under the hood need to be made?

Does your 2005 Chevy Tahoe have the factory 7-way? If so, you can install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controller with Wiring Adapter # 3015-P.

If you do not have the factory 7-way there will be some connections under the hood you will need to make, and you will also need the Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955, which will be installed at the spot shown in the accompanying photo.

I have added a link to a help article detailing the exact connections that need to be made to install the brake controller should you not have the factory 7-way.
