Rear Suspension Enhancement Helper Springs for a 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 Towing 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Im pulling a 40ft 5th wheel with a pin weight of 2100lbs. My truck doesnt have any suspension enhancements right now and the trailer levels it out without any sag. The problem Im having is while towing, Im getting a large amount of bounce when hitting bumps in the road. Will this product help in my situation?

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK25D will prevent bottoming out but it stiffens up the suspension so some of those bumps may be more jarring than before. And the unloaded/not towing ride will feel stiffer as well.

Ideally to soften things up a little you would go with air springs such as # F2709. This will allow you to adjust how stiff or soft the ride is. This model air spring is compatible with 5th wheel hitch frame brackets as well. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. If you decide to go this route then I also recommend an on-board compressor kit # F2158. This will allow you to adjust the air springs from the comfort of the truck cab without the need of an external compressor.

If you would rather stick with the jounce style springs then I recommend SumoSprings Solo # SSR-207-47. These are going to be similar to the Timbren springs but will have more give in them so the ride is not as stiff.
