Will the door have to be removed for installation.

You shouldn't have to remove the door assembly itself on your 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche for the installation of the K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirror # KS62094G. From what I could find you do need to remove the inside door panel for the installation. This is due to the wiring connector being located inside that paneling.
