Changing Out Manual 2 Step with Manual 3 Step for 2002 Montana Mountaineer 31FKS

Question:

Hi. We have a 2002 Montana Mountaineer travel trailer 31FKS. I want to replace the old steps at the rear door. These at present only contain two steps. I would like to upgrade to a three step unit. I have spent quite a bit of time the last two nights trying to find a unit that I can use. The problem is that the frame to mount them is 25 1/2 inch wide. I cannot find any 3 step replacements with a frame that narrow. Do you have, or know if anyone makes, a 3 step unit that has a frame width of 25 1/2 inch ? Whatever, I will be buying what I use from you folks. Thank you.

Since you are wanting to upgrade to a 3-step system any unit you look at will be wider. This is due to the slight design change from a 2-step to 3-step.

I recommend going with the part # 95324EXTALC1 which is a 3-step version that has mounting holes which measure 26" wide x 9" deep but you can still mount it by using the Outriggers # LC301704 provided that you have enough room for the 27-1/2" outside to outside 3-step version.
