Installing the Swagman RV Bumper Mount Bike Rack on a 5th Wheel Trailer Bumper with Limited Space

Question:

The bumper on the back of the 5th wheel is too close to the trailer, so we are not able to slide the bike rack between the traler and the bumper. Is there an adapter or soemthing we can use for this bike rack?

As long as there is 3/8 inches of space between the bumper and the body of the trailer, you should be able to install the Swagman RV and Motorhome Bike Rack, # S80600, because that is how wide the bolt is that goes behind the bumper.

If you look at the instructions I have linked, at the bottom of page one is a drawing showing how the rack fits together. If you put everything together except bolts G and F, you should be able to fit the rack around the bumper and then install the bolts, washers, and nuts.

If you are unable to install the bike rack in this matter then you will not be able to use the rack as there is no adapter available.
