Recommended Second Friction-Style Sway Control Bar for Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado 3500HD and I am pulling a 2005 39foot Fleetwood travel trailer. The trailer weighs 8500lbs with a 860lb tongue weight. I believe this is the right hitch for my application but I am wondering if I should get a second sway bar to help with the trailer length/weight? Thanks!

The Pro Series Weight Distribution System - Round # 49570 is the correct fit if your total tongue weight is between 1,000 and 1,200 lbs. This is the loaded trailer tongue weight as well as any cargo behind the rear axle of your Silverado.
For sway control use a friction system like # 83660. When a trailer is over 26 feet long and over 6,000 lbs a second friction sway bar is recommended. I've attached an article to assist.
