Should You be Able to Move a Sidewinder by Hand

Question:

I bought the Sidewinder Part number SW16K with the rotating turret and am installing it now. I have put the turret on the Sidewinder arm. It is very tight and difficult to turn by hand. I have not installed onto trailer yet and have not torqued the 4 cap bolts. Is this normal? I realize it needs to be a tight fit but I expected to be able to turn it by hand. Am I wrong? I did apply plenty of spray on white lithium grease thats the only way I could find white lithium grease. Just curious before I attach it to the trailer. Thanks

If you were able to move the Sidewinder # ST400-5AS16K by hand THAT would be a problem. You should not be able to move it by hand so it sounds like yours is working properly. Bolt that guy on your trailer, position the wedge in the right place, and you'll be good to go!
