Does Hollywood Racks Express 3-Bike Rack fit 2004 Acura MDX?

Question:

I got this as an option when I searched your site for racks that will work with Acura MDX 2004. HRE3 was an option. Can you confirm if this is correct? Anything else you would recommend? There are lots of choices on your site - which is awesome but please let me know. This is for occasional trips only maybe once a week. Thanks

Yes, the Hollywood Racks Express 3 Bike Carrier # HRE3 is a fit for your 2004 Acura MDX. This is a solid and economical choice for a trunk-mounted rack, though if you will be using it one a week I would recommend a rack with anti-sway cradles (which hold the bikes on the rack) instead of standard rubber cradles like the Express has.

Anti-sway cradles will ensure your bikes do not make # MPG2139 is similar to the Express but it does feature anti-sway cradles as well as a shorter distance between the arms (13-3/4" compared to the 16" the Express has).

The reason the distance between the arms matter is because that will reduce the chance you will need to use bike frame adapter bar # HRBA-PRO if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack, and a smaller width between the rack's arms means the mounting point on the bikes can also be smaller.
