Do Timbren Helper Springs # TDF25004E have to be Installed Facing a Certain Way

Does the narrow gap face towards the outside tire or does the wide gap face towards the outside tire?

I spoke with my contact at Timbren about help springs # TDF25004E. He said that the spring can be placed whichever way makes the most contact between the bottom of the spring and the vehicle. To me in sounded like it didn't matter.
