Using the Thule Hitching Post Pro Part # TH934XTR on a 2006 Lexus GX470
Question:
Good morning. I am looking for a bike rack for the 2 inch hitch of my 2006 Lexus GX470. It should be a 4 or 5 bike model. This suv has a swing-to-the-side barn-door type of hatch. However I do not want the weight and expense of the swing-arm hitches. Just one that tilts a lot. I see that you have photos of the TH934XTR Thule Hitching Post Pro tilting down so much that the barn door of a Toyota Rav4 can swing out and clear it. It looks to me like it tilts down more than other more current models like the Vertex? Is the Hitching Post Pro the only model that tilts that much? I actually thought that model was discontinued. Does Thule still make it or did you stock up since it works so well? What is the story with that model? Thank you.

The Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR does tilt rather far compared to other models. However, as we have not yet installed this rack on a 2006 Lexus GX470 I would not be able to confirm that the rear hatch can be swung open with the rack installed. There also cannot be any bikes on the rack while it is tilted down.
The Hitching Post Pro is a bike rack manufactured by Thule exclusively for us. They do not offer it to any other clients. If you would like to add a lock to this rack then you can do so using the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device part # THSTL2.
