How to Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 1998 Ford Expedition with 4-Way
Question:
I have a 1998 Ford expedition without factory trailer tow. I have a aftermarket hitch with a functional 4 way flat plug. I also have a brake controller. I have a circuit tester so do not need that to be included but would like a bracket to mount the plug on these back of my vehicle. What kit would you recomend? 7 pin RV wiring kit with brake controller wiring

In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on your 1998 Ford Expedition you are going to use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. This kit comes with a 4 to 7-way adapter in addition to all of the other wires and circuit breakers needed to install a brake controller and make the connections for the 7-way. This is a very popular kit that many of our customers use. It does however come with a circuit tester but we do not offer it without one.
In order to mount the 7-way trailer connector on the rear of the vehicle I recommend using the 7-Way Bracket part # C57202. I have attached an install video on a similar vehicle for you as well.
