Best Weight Distribution System with Sway Control for a Tritoon Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 2014 Ford Expedition and I pull a 27foot tri-toon. It sits on a tri axle trailer but I get real bad sway out of it. The trailer drives the truck. It has surge brakes on it and Im wondering if there is anything you would recomend. The boat weighs about 3700 lbs. Thanks for reading this

In order to help prevent and reduce trailer sway while pulling your boat/trailer with your 2014 Ford Expedition you are going to want to use a weight distribution system with integrated sway control. In order to determine which unit is correct for you, you will need to find the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer and add that to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. The sum of these two figures will be what is referred to as total tongue weight (TTW). This figure can then be used to select the correct system for you.

In addition to sway control, a weight distribution system as the name states will also help to reduce vehicle sag, and improve handling/braking. The best system we offer for this is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System. There will be no issues using this system with the surge brakes on your trailer but if it is a straight pull then you will also need part # EQ95-01-5950. You will want to select a system below that your TTW falls in the middle of.

0-400 lbs: part # EQ37040ET
200-600 lbs: part # EQ37060ET
600-1,000 lbs: part # EQ37100ET
800-1,200 lbs: part # EQ37120ET
1,000-1,400 lbs: part # EQ37140ET

I have attached a review/install video for you as well.
