Solution for Carrying 4 Bikes on 5th Wheel Trailer with 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
Is there such a thing as a 4 bike rack for 1 1/4inch receiver that is RV rated? Really need to carry more than 2 bikes. Want to carry behind a 2018 Keystone Alpine 3400RS.

We do not have a RV/trailer approved hitch-mounted rack that can carry 4 bikes and is compatible with a 1-1/4 inch receiver.
An option for transporting your other 2 bikes is with a roof rack and a couple of roof-mounted bike racks for your truck, such as the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier # Y02103. If you can tell me the year, make, and model of your truck, I will be happy to recommend a roof rack system that will work great.
Otherwise, you can simply remove the existing 1-1/4 inch hitch on your trailer and replace it with a 2 inch receiver like the Curt Adjustable Width # 13703. This 2 inch hitch is specifically designed for trailers and will fit frames of 22 inches to 72 inches wide. It can be bolted to the frame with the included hardware or welded on for a no-drill application. I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
Then with a 2 inch hitch installed, you will have a large selection of RV approved 4-bike racks to choose from that will work well. I recommend taking a look at the Swagman Trailhead 4-Bike Rack # S63381. This carrier features dual arms that can fold down for storage and anti-sway cradles that will secure the bikes at 3 different points. It can handle 4 bikes of up to 35 pounds each.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this rack, along with a link that will take you to our available selection of 4-bike racks that will fit a 2 inch receiver on your trailer.
