Can P3 Brake Controller Use the Same Wiring as Voyager Brake Controller on a 2000 GMC Sierra
Question:
I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 that currently has a Tekonsha Voyager installed in it. It appears to be wired according to the owners manaul in the the truck not with a quick harness. And functions as it should. However, Id like to upgrade. My question is, if I pull off some of the tape to the wiring on the Voyager, can I snip those wires, wire in the harness for the P3 assuming the colors all match and be good to go? Thanks

Yes you can! You can just cut the wiring to your existing brake controller and hardwire in the P3 # 90195 on your 2000 GMC Sierra. The wire colors between the Voyager and P3 are the same: white is ground, black is 12 volt power in, blue is output to the trailer brakes, and red is input from the brake switch.
