Replacement 175/80-13 Size Tires for Personal Watercraft Trailer

Question:

I have the original tires on 2006 zieman trailer for 2 pwcs. The tires have done me well and tread isnt bad but feel I should change them out as they are 12 years old. I recently had a 3 ton axle put on replacing the 2 ton. The size of tire on there now is a st 175/30d13. Would you suggest a better tire? Would the 175/80r/13 fit this? I would like to go with radials as most of my driving is on blacktop pavement. Thanks much

Since most of your driving is on-road I definitely recommend going with radial tires. I also definitely recommend replacing yours since they're so old. We generally say that trailer tires should be no more than 6 or 7 years old.

For a 175/80-13 radial I recommend the Taskmaster Provider, part # TTWTRTM1758013C. It's a high quality tire that's rated up to 1,360 pounds at 50 psi. It also has a higher speed rating than a lot of trailer tires at 81 mph.

I'm assuming your current tires are actually 175/80-13 bias tires and not 175/30-13 since I'm not familiar with that size. If I'm wrong and they are that small then you likely won't be able to go up to a 175/80-13 because they'd be way too large for you.
