Will the Hydrastar Control Adapter Module Work With a 2008 Silverado with OEM Brake Controller
Question:
Will the Hydrastar HBA-CAM make my HBA12 electric over hydraulic brake unit work with the Silverado in dash OEM factory brake controller ?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Hydrastar Control Adapter Module, # HBA-CAM, is compatible with your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado OEM brake controller and with the Hydrastar HBA12 electric over hydraulic brake actuator, as long as it is a Generation 6 or later model.
To check your HBA12 actuator, to see if it is a Gen 6 or later model, you will need to locate the serial number on the unit. Units with serial numbers 705700 and higher are generation 6 models, and the # HBA-CAM adapter will work with these units.
If your serial number is lower than 705700, there is not an adapter available for use with the Chevrolet integrated brake controller and you would need to purchase a brake controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic units like the P3 brake controller # 90195. I have linked an article that explains how to install an aftermarket brake controller on a 2008 GM full-size truck with factory-integrated brake control.
