Can the CURT Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver Support a Cargo Trailer and Honda Goldwing

Question:

Im looking for a hitch to mount under the rear of my 25 travel trailer to pull a utility trailer with a Goldwing motor bike on it. Will the hitch handle it? Also wondering if my Truck, camper and trailer will be safe on the highway. Appreciate your input.

First, in many states, it is illegal to tow a trailer behind another trailer, so you will need to check the laws in the area you will be traveling. It can be dangerous to tow a trailer behind another trailer because it increases the chance of jack knifing and increases the amount of momentum making braking more difficult. Turning will also be more difficult.

The CURT Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13703, has a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 pounds and tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. As long as the weight of your trailer and motorcycle does not exceed these limits, the hitch will handle the load with no problems.

You will need to check the owners manual for the trailer or the trailer manufacturer for its capacities and specifications for this application.

I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch. It can be bolted on or welded on. If you choose to have it welded on, any welding should be done by a qualified professional welder.
