How do I get remote apart to replace battery? It looks like it uses a different tool rather than a screw driver.

The bolts that hold the back of the Replacement Touchscreen Remote # LC358601 are Allen bolts and you'd need a set of Allen wrenches to get them out so you can replace the battery.
