Best Weight Distribution System for a 2012 Heartland North Trail NT 31QBS

Question:

I have a 2012 Heatrland 31QBS which is supposed to have Dry Weight 5,540 lbs.GVWR 6,900 lbs.Hitch Weight 675. Tow vehicle is 2014 Nissan Armada 4x4 Platinum rated for 9000 towing. I am looking for WDH with sway control...what is recommended? I dont want to have to disconnect anything to back up and prefer not to drill for installation. I also see that all reviews speak of having a receiver hitch rated for weight distribution....how do I know if mine is it is factory installed as part of the tow package? Thanks

In order to determine if the factory hitch you have on your 2014 Nissan Armada is rated for use with a weight distribution system, you will want to take a look on the hitch itself or in the owner's manual for a second set of capacities that will pertain to towing with a weight distribution system.

It is likely that your hitch is indeed rated for use with a weight distribution system therefore, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37100ET. The Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems are one of the best on the market with integrated 4-point sway control which will work to both reduce and prevent trailer sway.

As long as your total tongue weight (TTW) does not exceed 1,000 lbs then this system will work well for you. In order to calculate TTW you will need to add the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. This system will not require drilling to install and you will not need to disengage the spring bars while in reverse assuming the trailer remains relatively straight. If the trailer is reversing at an angle then you will need to disengage the spring bars but there is not a weight distribution system on the market to my knowledge that will not require this.

I have attached a review video on the above system for you as well.
