Available Truck Tool Boxes for Pickup with 5th Wheel Hitch Installed

Question:

I own a 2017 Ram 3500 SB and use a Demco Autoslide hitch I purchased from you. Id like to install a toolbox in the front of the bed, but the only one Ive found that will work while towing is a Kobalt box sold by Lowes and built by BetterBuilt. It works, since it is a low profile box and is deep enough the allow me the carry 17inch tall generators, but it is not very well made and cant handle the load. It has to be removed and re-installed to install or remove the hitch, since the pucks are 16.5inch from the front of the bed. Do you carry or know where I can buy a high quality low profile above the rail box or a below the rail box that is no more than 16.5inch from front the back to clear the pucks and about 19inch tall? There are a lot of Ram SB trucks towing 5th wheels I would think a box that would allow use with the hitch in place would be popular.

The narrowest crossover tool boxes we offer for your 2017 Ram 3500 short bed are 20-inches wide (meaning 20-inches front-to-back when installed in the bed) so none of those will avoid the clearance issue in your Ram's bed. All such crossover-style boxes are shown on the linked page.

But we do offer underbody tool boxes like # DZ75 and the others shown on the other page.
