Question:
Im looking for a hitch for an airstream sport 16 the hitch weight is 375 pounds. I have used an equalizer hitch before and like them but im not sure if i need the 400 pound or 600 pound hitch. Could you tell me which i would need.

I am assuming that the 375 pounds is the dry tongue weight. If that is the case then once the trailer is loaded and ready to tow it will be over 400 pounds. Also when calculating tongue weight for weight distribution you also have to add in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
For example, if your tongue weight is 400 pounds and you have 100 pounds of gear behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle then the total tongue weight is 500 pounds.
Between the 400 and 600 pound Equal-I-zer systems I would go with the 600 pound system, # EQ37060ET. This system comes with a 2 inch diameter ball so if you need a 2-5/16 inch use # EQ91-00-6100. A thin-walled socket is also recommended to install/remove the ball, # EQ70-00-4800.
I have included some links on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you.
