Determining Best Replacement Winch for Bryant Ski Boat

Question:

I have a 19foot Bryant Ski Boat. The winch stand got bent in storage. What do you recommend for replacement for winch?

We do have a large selection of hand winches available. The winch that will work best for your Bryant Ski Boat will depend on a few different factors.

Generally speaking, a boat-size-to-winch capacity is around 2 to 1, meaning a 3,000 pound capacity winch should be able to handle a 6,000 pound boat. If your boat trailer is equipped with good rollers and you have a short winching distance, this ratio can be increased to 3 to 1. If your trailer has wooden bunks and you have a longer winching distance, the ratio will be reduced to 1 to 1.

For example, the Jif Marine 2-Speed Trailer Winch # 315-W3200D features a 3,200 pound capacity and should work well for a boat weighing up to around 6,400 pounds, possibly more if the conditions are right.

If you are able to tell me how much your Bryant boat weighs, or possibly the model winch you are looking to replace, I will be happy to make a specific recommendation. I have also attached a link that will take you to our available selection of hand winches that you can look through, along with an article that you might find helpful.
