Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Cooler Recommendation for 2005 Chevy Express Van

Question:

I have a 2005 Chevy Express 3500 passenger van with 277,000 miles. In July/August, I will be pulling a camp trailer from Seattle to El Paso, TX that will weigh a maximum of 6,000 pounds when fully loaded. We are moving to El Paso area, so it will be a lot hotter than Seattle. I have a fairly large space between the AC condenser and the front grill. It should easily fit both an oil cooler and a transmission cooler. My current radiator has both a factory oil cooler and factory transmission cooler integrated into it. What would be your recommendation for the best arrangement for keeping my engine and transmission at healthy temps pulling the trailer in El Paso heat?

Best solution would be a combination engine oil and transmission fluid cooler for your 2005 Chevy Express Van like the Derale kit part # D15903. This comes with all the fittings, lines and brackets needed to install in your vehicle. The oil filter fitting is a match for what your van has as well since it's designed for GM applications.
