Can a Bestop Supertop for Trucks Fit a 1995 Toyota Tacoma with a Bed Liner and Will it Leak

Question:

I already have a dura liner in the trucks bed. Will this cover still fit? Also, is it waterproof no drainage into bed if it rains? Thank you!

According to my contact at Bestop, you can install the Supertop for Trucks, # B76306, if your 1995 Toyota Tacoma has a bed liner. If it is a spray in bed liner, you would just follow the instructions like normal. I have included a link to the instructions for you to view.

If it is a slide in type of bed liner, you may need to cut and trim the bed liner in order to get a secure connection for the clamps.

According to Bestop, the Supertop is weather resistant but not waterproof. For something to be considered waterproof it must be able to be submerged underwater and not leak. The material of the top will resist rain, but there is a chance that water can get in from the seams or zippers of the cover.

Bestop has also stated that if the cover is stretched too much from water puddling up, water could potentially leak in through the fabric. My contact at Bestop told me that to further prevent water from leaking in if the cover were to be stretched, you could apply scotch guard on the inside of the cover.

For normal rainy conditions while driving, the top should keep the items in your truck bed dry. There is just a small chance that some water can get in through the seams around the windows or through the zippers.
