For vehicles with not much free space on the dash like your 2017 Toyota Tacoma we have a great solution.

The Redarc Tow-Pro part # RED44FR installs with basically only a knob visible that can go virtually anywhere on your truck's interior. The module (brain) of the controller mounts out of site and the knob is what you'd use to control it.

If you check out the picture I attached you'll see the knob pointed out.

For a vehicle specific harness for this controller to install in your 2017 Toyota Tacoma you'd want the part # 3031-S which plugs right into the port under your dash.
