If some fault in your RV wiring is causing you to lose power to your Atwood rooftop air conditioning unit you will want to trace all power connections from the unit to the RV's power distribution/fuse panel to find the fault.

If the power to the unit is consistent and you know your RV wiring can handle the current draw from your AC then it is possible there is a fault inside the unit or that your RV cannot deliver the current needed.

Keep in mind that a device like an RV air conditioner will require far more power to start than it needs to run once started. For instance, Atwood Air Command # AT15027-22 requires at start-up about 3800-watts! Once running and stabilized its power demand drops to below 1300-watts.

Units with a heat pump feature like # AT15028-22 draw even more current, almost 14-amps, and at start-up they demand over 4800-watts.
