what is the shortest kayak it will carry? What is the measurement from the front J holder to the back one?

The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG462G2 has a bar spread of approximately 47-1/2 inches on center. There is some adjustability to make the bar spread slightly less, maybe and inch or so, but not much. A kayak would definitely have to be over 4 feet long to sit on the cradles.
